The Healthcare Business Association (HBA) at UCLA Anderson connects students to the business of healthcare through career and social events. We prepare members to recruit and advance in healthcare fields—from products (pharma, biotech, medical devices) to services (consulting, providers, payers)—while drawing on our strong alumni and industry network to explore where healthcare meets technology, finance, operations, and entrepreneurship.

With over 150 full-time, fully employed, and executive MBA members, the HBA serves as a hub for healthcare industry connections at UCLA and beyond, preparing the next generation of healthcare leaders.

Vitals Conference

VITALS is Southern California's premier student-led healthcare conference, hosted each year by the HBA at UCLA Anderson. Over a single day of keynotes and interactive panels, it brings together students, industry leaders, clinicians, investors, and alumni around a new theme each year — from precision medicine and health equity to the future of healthtech — to explore where healthcare is headed next.

HBA 101 Series

The HBA 101 Series is our foundation for getting members fluent in the business of healthcare. These approachable sessions break down the industry's core verticals — pharma, biotech, and medical devices to consulting, providers, and payers — alongside the recruiting know-how to pursue them, giving both newcomers and career-switchers the vocabulary, context, and confidence to dive into everything else the HBA offers.
